See, watching my parents struggle, stress, and worry about money as I grew up burned a desire into my subconcious like a branding iron;
...I was NOT going to live with the pain of never having enough money all my life and neither were they, that's why at the ripe old age of 9, when my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I informed her of this by answering in one word:
"RICH."
Mama smilled, and told me if that's what I wanted, like anything else, if I put my mind to it, I could do it.
Inspired and confident, I strode forth into life at full throttle, assured my determination, staright A's and 170+ "genius level" I.Q. would deliver me to the lifestyles of the rich and famous when I grew up.

Yeah, little Hark was determined to be rich, but I didn't know any rich people who could show me how. So I followed the only advice my working class parents knew to give me, and you already know what that was:
Go to school, get good grades, go to college, and get a good job. Then work harder than everybody else, and you can get rich. Yep, they told me The Big Lie.

Like a lot of other people, I did exactly what they said, came out of college with honors, got married, had kids, worked my ass off on the plantation -- oops I mean job market -- bought a house and two luxury cars, and got my Visa gold cards for vacations and shopping.
Hey, as far as I was concerned, I was living the american dream right?
And within 10 years my reward for following society's advice and all my hard work was to be divorced, bankrupt, my home foreclosed on, sleeping on a friend's couch virtually homeless, and hanging desperately on to a job I absolutely hated.
Uh, not the dream. The New American Nightmare...
But everything was going to be okay, because something happened right at this miserable moment that changed my life forever.
